Mo Lefever

My name is Mo Lefever and I’ve been playing guitar since age 9. Growing up in Medicine Hat, I participated in many music festivals and entertained at weddings and retirement parties. Throughout high school, I played trumpet in concert band and guitar in stage band, where I developed a true love for jazz music. After high school, I moved to Edmonton to attend the Grant MacEwan College music program, where I was very fortunate to study with the amazing instructors there. Also, I met many of the musicians I would collaborate with later, including the disco infernos of GODIVA, and Brett Miles’ Magilla Funk Conduit. Currently, I play in several jazz trios and a top forty cover band called The Urbanites. I have been teaching guitar for the past 11 years and have had students ranging from age 6 to 84! The skills I plan to focus on at Rockergirl Camp are improvisation (making up a rippin’ guitar solo on the spot) and writing out charts for songs. I’m looking forward to jamming with you!
